Holidays on the Farm

As many in the community know, the holiday season at Dell’Osso Family Farm is a very special time of year. Guests come from near and far to enjoy all of the winter fun our farm has to offer, and this year the fun is set to begin on December 14th, 2019 and run through January 4th, 2020! We’re taking a closer look at Holiday’s on the Farm and letting you in on just how we manage to get all of that snow every year!

General Admission Holidays on the Farm

There’s no general admission at Holidays on the Farm, so we invite everyone to come out and take a stroll, and look at all we have to see and do. We truly have a fun activity for everyone:

  • Family Fun: For those guests looking for a bit of excitement and adventure, we offer zip lines, and a ride on the Dell’Osso Express Train. We also offer snow tubing, with our 2019 season for snow tube mountain beginning December 15th (guests enjoy a 90-minute session of fun). Ice-skating is also available for those who’d like to dawn their mittens and make some figure 8’s.
  • Play Zone: For younger members of the family (and even “grown-up kids”) we feature a giant super slide, ball throw arena, pony rides, and an animal zoo.
  • Lights on the Farm: Come celebrate the season by enjoying our spectacular display of holiday lights. Guests can travel through the lights on our open-air hayride or view them while riding on the Dell’Osso Express train ride.
  • Free Attractions and So Much More: Guests can enjoy our peddle cars and tire pyramid free of charge. We also feature a country store bakery and Christmas shopping on-site, as well as photos with Santa for lifelong memories.

Snow Making for Holidays on the Farm

Being in Lathrop, California, it’s no secret that winter temps are rarely below freezing temperature. This begs the question of “how do we get all of the snow?” Whereas a traditional snowmaking machine is solely dependent on at or below freezing temperatures in order to be effective, we rely on more advanced technology to create our snow. Because California winter can be mild or even rainy at times (which are not ideal conditions for traditional snowmaking), we rely on the ICSTM technology housed in every SnowMagic snow making machine to provide consistent snow.

This means that we can easily produce the amount of snow needed for snow tubing slope and our other snow features throughout the season without having to rely on California weather!
  • Real Snow: As an added bonus, SnowMagic’s snow making machine does not require the addition of any chemicals or artificial additives, making it safe for children and even animals. Additionally, because SnowMagic snow is environmentally friendly, we can recycle and reuse it after it melts, assuring we leave a minimal environmental footprint.
